All proceeds from the
Tom Thumb WOKC Run for the Children 5K/Fun Run benefit
Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer (WOKC). Wipe Out Kids' Cancer is a Dallas-based non-profit organization founded in 1980 dedicated to eradicating pediatric cancer by funding innovative research, education and treatment, while providing hope to children and families battling cancer.
Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, participants and volunteers, the 2010 Tom Thumb WOKC Run for the Children had a record-breaking number of participants and raised $74,000, which allowed WOKC to provide funding for 4 pediatric cancer research trials at 5 hospitals through partnerships with Children’s Medical Center Dallas/Legacy and Cook Children’s Medical Center Ft. Worth.
The money raised in 2011 will be used to help find a cure for this terrible disease and to investigate new treatment options by funding additional clinical research trials. The money will also provide funding for the WOKC Buddy Bag and Ambassador programs which provide hope and support to local pediatric cancer patients and their families.
